3. What is Hang Seng Index Futures contract?
|
|
|
|
Hang Seng Index Futures Contract allows investors to expose to the performance of the 33 constituent stocks by meeting the margin requirement. This margin requirement is to ensure that the investors will fulfill their responsibilities. Both the buyer and the seller have to pay the margin requirement before they can open any contracts or make any deals. Upon the expiry of contracts, those investors who are in long position or short position shall settle the difference by cash.

4. What are Hang Seng Index Options?
|
|
|
Hang Seng Index Options are contracts which are based on Hang Seng Index. Index Options give the contract holders the rights to buy (for call) or short (for put) a specified number of indices at a pre-agreed price (strike price) made on a specified date. For those who are buying the options have to pay premiums in order to exercise the rights; for those who are selling the options will receive premiums while they are also responsible for buying or selling the related assets when those who buy the options exercise their rights before the rights expire.

5. What types of orders can I submit?
|
|
|
You can submit limit orders with Electronic Commodities account.
|
|
|
|
|
|
6. When can I submit my instructions?
|
|
|
|
Basically you can submit buy/sell, change or cancel order anytime except for the period from 4:15 pm - 7:00 pm (day-end period).
|
|
|
|
|
|
7. How long do my instructions stay alive?
|
|
|
Unless you cancel your instructions, your orders will stay alive until the end of the trading day. |

8. What can I do if I cannot get a computer and still want to place an order?
|
|
|
You can call our Dealing Hotline (please refer to the back of your Electronic account opening card) and place order. However, a slightly higher commission rate of 0.3% (minimum commission is HK$100 per order) for securities will be charged on phone orders. Commission ratios for futures and options trading are the same by phone or through internet.

9. Are there any specific requirements for on-line trading?
|
|
|
|
When trading futures and options for your Electronic Commodities account, 100% of the initial margin or the premium is required in your account prior to placing orders. When close out the open position in your account, the initial margin will be released and your cash balance on-hand will be updated.

|
|
|
|
|
10. How can I place orders?
|
|
|
To place your orders, you should first click "Futures
and Options Account Login" which are on the left hand
column of CASH 's homepage. You will be asked to enter your
Login Name and Login Password before getting into the
trading hall. After logging into the trading hall, you can
enter the stock code, your ordered price, quantity or
specific products for commodities, buy/sell order and then
send your order instruction.

11. What statement will I receive?
|
|
|
Instant Bought/Sold Confirmation through email
Monthly statement or (e-statement)
Bought/Sold confirmation will be sent to you by e-mail at the end of each trading day. A hard copy of this bought and sold confirmation will be delivered to the client by regular mail no later than the end of the next trading day.
All accounts in which activity has taken place or maintain a balance or position during the preceding month will receive a monthly statement or (e-statement).

12. How will I be notified of trade executions?
|
|
|
|
Once your order is executed, the "status" column under the "TRANSACTION STATUS" section in the trading hall will be changed from "Queuing" to "Executed". Besides, you are notified immediately via Web-based message once your order is executed. You will also be mailed a confirmation of your trade the day the order is executed. All of your trading, portfolio, and account records will be automatically updated on real time basis.
